A case of deep bite in a mixed dentition with Class I molar relation; the overjet is slightly large. The case in which deep overbite improved naturally as the patient grew (1, 3). Since the skeletal structure indicated that the face had depth and the mandible was predicted to have significant forward growth, it was decided to refrain from treatment during the mixed dentition phase and instead conduct observations, with treatment to begin once the permanent dentition was fully developed. Two years and nine months after the initial visit, the overbite and overjet had naturally decreased (3), We performed treatment using full braces to correct minor orthodontic issues such as crowding and tooth alignment.

It is not necessarily the right decision to begin orthodontic treatment immediately for malocclusion during the mixed dentition. In orthodontic treatment during the mixed dentition phase, it is necessary to anticipate changes associated with growth and decide whether to perform the minimum necessary treatment or to conduct periodic observations until the permanent teeth erupt. The duration of orthodontic treatment should be as short as possible and as efficient as possible. Regardless of when orthodontic treatment is performed during the mixed dentition phase, the ultimate treatment goal is to achieve a favorable dental alignment and occlusion in the permanent dentition. In this case, regular observations made it possible to treat the condition within a short period of time.
